Analysis of Ranjo Batu Community Perception of Unlicensed Gold Mining Activities on Environmental Quality

Abstract Since 2008, the activity of gold mining without a permit in Ranjo Batu Village has always been polemic. There have pros and cons community. Some people get various benefits, but others feel disadvantaged, giving rise to perceptions. In this article, we focus more on environmental aspect. The most apparent impact activities is decrease quality, some seem ignore it because pragmatic view maintained. This study aims comprehensively determine publics perception aspects Village. research method uses descriptive quantitative data. Data were obtained by distributing valid reliable questionnaires 95 respondents from total population 1,736 people. analysis will use percentage with category respondent achievement level (TCR). results showed that was included unfavorable category, 53.61%. score indicates illegal community perspective hurts environment, both water, land, air.
